  • A lady looking to desperately re-home blue heeler in NSW

I don't know this person, but when I was looking for a second dog I did enquire about this particular one but decided against it as I would prefer to pick a dog up from it's owner, also I was advised to introduce Mindy to any new older dog first to see how they interact before purchasing.

She rang me out of desperation yesterday offering her for free. (originally wanted $500) If not re-homed within the week all her dogs will be put down....I said I would try and help her, but sounds like she runs a puppy farm sh says she is a small breeder, but the all locals have rallied against her and want all her dogs gone....I got this from her conversation yesterday as she was distressed, she has re-homed 9 or 10 and has 15 more to go.....I'll paste the link anyway, she sounded genially re-morseful, and I felt sorry for her, but at the same time I don't know the full circumstances.

She is pure bred with certificates, has had one litter and now desexed.

She should consider sending the dog to a rescue group. Also the Aus Cattle Dog club of NSW may be able to help.

Here's some links to various groups

Any rescue groups local to her area should be able to help too.

I belong to an ACD site and they often allow details of specific dogs that are not safe. I will send the moderator a PM with that link

Thanks Kalacreek, I do have her phone number if you need it.

She said the council and real estate gave there approval and were fine with the dogs when she first took on the lease, but one local rallied all the others and now the council are going with the locals. If the council could give her enough time to get another property, she would probably be fine, the one she is on at the moment is 12 acres.

Can you ask her how critical this particular dog is with regards to euthanasia? Is she really serious about euthing at the end of the week. If she is going to do something rash please let me know. I live on the other side of the country so hard for me to do much except if you can monitor the situation and if it looks disastrous and she hasn't been able to place the dog in a rescue the ACD group might be able to help in some way.

I wonder what she did to upset the locals especially after she was given approval. I wonder what the terms of the approval were.

She doesn't want to authenase any of them, she said the if the dogs are not moved within a week, the council will attend her property and authenase all of them, which is why she is offering this particular dog free, but she also has 10-15 others. As I said, I don't know the full story only the small part of what she has toled me, and I don't know this person, one probably needs to see the whole picture. For an entire community to be against her sounds sus, unless some of the dogs are out of control, or not housed properly. I live in VIC so can't visit.
