Didn't you just give your last dog away - why do you want another one?

I gave cleo to a close relative for good reasons. I don't know if you've been reading everything i've posted but i think a maltese is a dog i could definately handle. And i feel right doing this as i hvae just found the the rspca have a few malteses. Atleast i will be saving a life.

What makes you think if you can't handle a kelpie - one of the easiest dogs to train... that a Maltese in your care will be any better behaved? I don't get it.

Maltese are number one on the dog bite list. They might not do serious damage every time but who wants to live with such a grumpy breed?

You seem like a lovely person KL, sometimes hearing (or reading)facts up straight can be a little offensive, I understand, but no one is going to sugar coat things for you. I am a pretty blunt person in reality and also in what ever I am involved in. I can really understand where Hyacinth is coming from. Even though a tiny dog may seem easier, they still need stimulation, exercise and at least basic obedience.

I am aware of all this. I am blunt also. The only reason i chose a maltese is because i've already had them in the past. Whereas i was new to having a kelpie.

I'm just concerned for your dad's dog. A puppy - doesn't matter what size - is going to harrass any other dog available. And it will be up to you to set limits... and if you'd done that with the kelpie...

Maybe you could adopt an adult SWF, take your dad's dog with you to meet it and pick the one it gets along with best...

I'm not that dysfuctional that i can't handle a dog. I handled cleo fine i just wanted her to be used for what she was bred for so she was happier.
