Thread: American Staffordshire Terrier

  1. #1

    Default American Staffordshire Terrier

I'd like an amstaff to suit my active lifestyle and my home (small home suitable for a medium sized dog). I'm more than willing to talk to breeders so they know that the dog is going to a good home.

Have you had a look at the breeders on Dogzonline? There are 116 breeders listed so some of them are bound to be what you are looking for

    American Staffordshire Terrier Breeders, Australia

Just remember, this is a list of registered breeders but please still do your homework on each of them and make sure they are REPUTABLE as well as registered.

Why have you attached a picture of a pitbull?

Yes your best bet is to contact some breeders and take it from there

The AST clubs in your state may also have a breeder list. Perhaps join an AST forum also as it's good to network.

Who's dog is in that photo?

I know there is a cute looking "Amstaff" at renbury farm that is In urgent need of saving.

If You are in NSW I would suggest giving them a call.

Thanks for the help everyone. I'm currently in the process of moving/settling into my new home and don't plan on getting a dog in the immediate future. I'll be ready to make the commitment in a couple of months, that's why I'm looking for reputable breeders now. The dog in the photo I've uploaded is from the internet and the Ruby form Renbury farm is a beautiful dog but unfortunately I won't be able to adopt her at this time because of my current situation. If there are any breeders on the forum that can help me, please feel free to PM me.

Another good way to meet breeders is to go visit some of the dog shows in your area. And they will be able to talk to you about who has dogs that might suit you.

It's good to plan a head for the right puppy. It took me a year and a half to find the right puppy for me - and I got her at 10 weeks old from AWL. Note - they don't put their puppies on their website usually.

I'd really like an "Amstaff" similar to the one in the picture.

Unfortunately then you wont find a registered, reputable Amstaff breeder with pups the same as the one in the picture. That isn't to say that Amstaff dont come with Dudley (liver) noses but it is considered a fault in the show ring/standard.

The dog in that picture is very much an APBT.
Is that what you were after ??
