Exclamation Wanted - Male GREYHOUND Qld

    Hi ya!

    Can you help me????

I'm on Fraser Coast, I'm looking for a small up to 30 kg male Greyhound to service my large 15 kg Whippet (just in season).

There is serious reasoning behind the breed combination which my research has lead me to. I'm in a wheelchair and this litter will provide me with the most appropriate companion dog and pet.

    Thank you.

    Cheers

Hi there, welcome to the forum.

All the best with your companion dog, but will you be able to find homes for the other pups? Sighthounds can have large litters.

I don't want to get you offside, but worry about it.

Being newly involved with rescuing death row greyhounds gives me a little perspective, these guys can be hard to find homes for. And there is a never ending torrent of unwanted greyhounds being put down every day...

We all know they make the best pets around, but the general public don't.

There has been a six month old whippet/greyhound x pup at a Sydney pound now for a long time - pound staff keep on putting off his euthanasia but no-one seems to want him...

I agree with Natty i reckon you will be able to find one that needs a home, and you will have the added bonus of saving a dogs life its a great feeling!

What are you looking for in a companion?

Can't say too much more to the OP other than i am lost for words and only wish i could gather the strength tonight to further educate you.

After a day at the pound and witnessing the carnage i find myself speechless.

Do everyone a favour and start with reasearching the desperate plight of the breed you are thinking of breeding. You know....the OTHER side. Get the facts and the figures and know that you are willingly contributing to an over supply of this breed in this country if you go ahead.

Many of whom are killed in pounds and shelters across this country.

I get it, its pick on the dummy eh, the non 'educated' dim wit who is irresponsible, who clearly has no idea what they are doing nor any experience with greyhounds, whippets, dogs in general even. WHATEVER! How do you ppl know I don't already have retired greys, hmmmm, or any other dog, cat, kitty, for that matter. You don't, so save your sanctamonious preeching.

The other obvious point which I CLEARLY stated without writing a personal novel about MY situation, who needs to after all its a classifyied.... is I have done much research, i have been through a lot trying to find the right dog for MY NEEDS, years of it in fact, tears of being placed with dogs who are wrong, heartache, so I suggest until you know me, my situation, my life and disability SAVE IT, I'm not interested.

Clearly this is the WRONG place to post a ad.

Clearly you don't like people not bowing down to you because you are disabled. I asked a simple question and am still awaiting an answer. What are you looking for in a dog. Also why aren;t you working with dogs australia in order to get yourself the right companion - fully trained

Yes this is the wrong place to post an add IMO.

I am not picking on you and i am not saying you are uneducated in any other respect Sage.

If you had retired Greys you would be swept up with their plight and refuse to contribute to the hideous mess.

My post was harsh but i am not preeching. What i have stated is a reality and a fact. For those who clean up the mess, your post is way to much to bear. You have my reaction and i will not apologise for that.

Can i ask you; if you have done so much reaserch why have you posted just prior to your females season?

This is not about you Sage, this is so much more than you.

My background by the way is in disability services/community service. I worked as program co ordinator/ manager for a large residential service for people with intellectual and physical disabilities and aquired brain injury

Occy it is only my post that has upset Sage i believe. I hope she speaks further with you.

I am fairly sure anything saying anything less than - here use my dog - would upset this person
