Oh my god Kimbastaff. Do you really agree with that post??

I am literally gobsmacked. Should we all just agree with each other so no-one learns or sees an alterntaive viewpoint. I can't see anyone in this thread dumping on anyone in the discussion.

If disucssions become too santised, no-one moves forward in learning and we make for a boring contrite little world.

I personally wouldnt call a sad face with what appears to be steam coming out the top at the end of a statement made to me a friendly discussion... I might be wrong, but I agree with Dreamstaff, I've just come back to this forum and feel like I've been jumped upon a couple of times for stating my opinion, and in one case for offering advice... not very friendly really...

and your previous post shows the reason why... surely I am free to agree who ever I like, without being judged for it... Do I have to state the reason I chose to thank a poster...

Sad face with steam? The emoticon is "confused" !! It isnt steam, they are question marks! 'Good grief!

If you don't want your opinion challenged or anyone to offer an alternative opinion, do you really think it is wise to air it on a public forum?

    [QUOTE=Kimbastaff;123034]WHERE DID I SAY THAT...

what I said was breeding a large dog to a small dog could only be for profit, not a mention about purebreeding at all... I cannot think of any reason at all why someone should mix a large and small breed, it certainly cannot be for the health of the dogs...[/QUOTE

I'm happy to have my opinions questioned, but you have incorrectly Quoted me.. and still not answered, yet you feel it ok to question my response to another poster... very strange...

    Judged for it?

Wow, you really like to throw around assumptions and judgements yourself don't you. First I am being bad by using emoticons that you wrongly claim mean something they don't and now I am judging you becuase I asked if you seriously agreed that there were "people either jump on them and tell them they are bad people, or they jump on others for offering advice about the subjuect which they have experience with and tell them they are idiots or are copping out."

Kimbastaff, I'll say it agin. This is public forum. If you choose to air opinions in a public forum, then you have to accept that others may challenge your opinions or disagree.

At no time in my responses have I "attacked, jumped on you, told you were bad or told you that you were an idiot or copping out". In fact, all I have done is offered my opinions and disagreed with some points that have been made.

and yet you still refuse to answer my question... your full of big words and pretty pictures...

Yes you have questioned me but as I said previous thats not what I even said... I've asked you to please explain but all you seem to do is dance around the question....

I cannot think of any reason that anyone would mate a large breed of dog to a smaller one that would benefit anyone other than the breeders financial pocket... if you can think of another reason I'm happy to listen...

    Strange? Why?

You used uppercase to "yell" at me and I initially thought it best to move on from the thread. Interestingly you accused me of not being friendly. I didn't yell at anyone. However, and moving on, I then saw the next post by Dreamstaff and was genuinely amazed that anyone thought the thread was attacking anyone, so I responded.

In answer to your question: show me medical evidence that backs up the fact you can't mate dogs of different sizes. If you were looking at the extremes, such as a Chihuahua and Wolfhound, then the physical difference would make the mating and fraught with danger and damn near physically impossible without intervention and risk.

I owned Weimeraners many years ago. I had a bitch who was the smallest size acceptable by the breed standard, and a dog that was the tallest size (and possibly a tad over sized) and there was at least 10cm difference in their height.

    They were mated without issue.

Going back to your argument, that people who breed dogs of mismatched sizes could only be breeding for profit, I will again say the statement is illogical and not true. I am damn sure there will be those breeding dogs purely for profit, regardless of size or dogs being bred, and there will equally be those who have a genuine love and care for the dog and an interest in animal husbandry.

I am supporter of the purebred dog.

I am not a supporter of arguments that simply are not factual or logical or that are based on mass and often incorrect generlisations.

Truth be known, we can not even logically and factually state that puppy farmers only breed for profit. Yes, the liklihood that they do is huge, but the word 'all' can not be used.

I have a dog that is mostly wolfie, with other smaller things thrown in over generations, to produce a hunting dog that has the skills of a sighthound, but not the size, to make hunting in dense bushland easier and less likely to damage the dog. Nothing to do with money--I paid less for her than a nice Sunday lunch. Just saying.

    Good grief.

Take a breather and try to understand that sometimes the questioner and the answerer can be typing at the same time. Not everyone's internet runs at the same speed either.

Oh, but that's right, everyone else is the rude one and the attacking one, not you hey?
