Although Axle is very good for me when we're home or out with no distractions (most of the time), he gets very distracted around other dogs and it's very rare I can get his focus back on me.
I don't know many people with dogs close by, however on the mothers day weekend I took advantage of taking my boy up the coast for a picnic to meet some dogs from my partners side. Leela was there and Axle appears to be fine with her now (thank goodness, after all the training I did with the both of them!) though he did react to another staffy (not sure who growled first?). He also seemed a bit stand-offish with the other large x breed dog there, didn't growl but he was definitely out of his comfort zone. I admit, the other dogs were introduced right in Axles face which I know is very confronting (I guess other people think they know better).
Its time to find some other doggy friends to help with his socialisation and also for him to focus on me when there's distractions. I know I've left things late but better late than never.
So I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any group obedience classes for adult dogs in Western Sydney? I can't seem to find much online - most group classes are for puppies, not adult dogs.
