Prior to V&F I had dogs who were fed supermarket food, kibble etc. It was only when I lost my Irish Wolfhound at age 5 to bone cancer, then bought Villain on a contract which stipulated raw feeding did I start to read and think about what I was feeding my animals. Then I started to get quite scared by what I was reading.
Sure, my previous animals have been happy and healthy, but when I compare then to V&F there is no comparison. I can quite honestly say I didn't know how much healthier and happier pets fed on fresh, biologically appropriate foods could be. V&F are testament to that- and for me it is a direct comparison with previous pets. And an eye opener at that.
I also think that if the message about humans being healthier and immunologically stronger on fresh diets is true- then why not the same for our pets? No, raw feeding isnt for everyone, it is much more complicated than "throwing the dog a bone"... but if we even reduce the "fast food" intake of our pets by just a little here and there, might we not reap the benefits?
