So I just got home from work to find an extra dog in our backyard... "Rocket". He's the neighbours dog and to make me hate him more (he's a small fluffy thing and barks 24/7) he's now decided that he can dig under the fence (it's a 6ft wooden fence) and come have puppy play dates while the humans are at work! Obviously it's not all his fault, there is some evidence of digging and dirty paws from my two girls but I already hold a grudge towards him (I'm up for work at 2am so on my sleep-in days it really annoys me when his barking wakes me up at 5 and then the owners come out screaming "rocket!!!" and making even more noise). The little $hit ducked back under the fence when I walked up to him so I filled the hole in with bricks and am now on a mission to try and stop this from happening again.
What can I do to the entire fence-line (about 25m) to prevent the dogs from having un-organised play dates? My OH is away until Friday so on the weekend we will dig a trench thing under the fence and fill with concrete but I need something to last until then, and it will have to be relatively quick as I have to go back to work in 2hrs. I'm about to go spray the fence-line with citronella oil, will that work?
I can't leave the dogs inside when I'm at work, Meika is fine but Molly destroys EVERYTHING, she will eat furniture, carpet and walls. The garage is currently housing a friend's 2 very important motorbikes for the next week so thats a no-go until then and the laundry is part of the garage, not it's own seperate room so that's also not an option. I can lock them onto the veranda this afternoon but it's not going to be very nice for them to be locked out there from 2am-11am tomorrow morning while I'm at work.
I will go speak to Rocket's owners when after I finish work this afternoon and hopefully they will also be able to do something to their side of the fence but in the mean time I really need a quick-solution that will work until the weekend!
