Barney is allowed on the bed and couch but at night he sleeps in his own bed in our room...........sometimes he sneaks up tho like this morning I woke up to this
Wherever your dogs sleep it should be YOUR choice. You should INVITE the dog on the bed and be able to get them off on command. Same with furniture, your dogs should see it as a privlidge not a right! So maybe once a week try going to be and not inviting the dog up, if they 'crack it' (lol) then you know you have issues!
Im a softie, Xena and Abby have complete run of the house and usually go to be before me, they stay there till OH gets into bed then they head off to the lounge. I also dont care if ppl visiting dont want dog hair on em , I actually tell ppl not to wear good clothes as Xena will drool over them lol. Love me love my dogs is my motto.
When my mum comes to stay she expects me to leave my dogs outside...wtf, you go outside if you dont wanna be round the dogs.
Don't come and visit, I reckon lol, if they don't like the pooches.
Shes not much of a dog person (even though they have their own dog). I guess she jus assumes they will be outide because the house before we moved to Oz they had to be outside (though we used to sneak em in all the time).
She seems to have adjusted now, but I can tell shes always a bit gutted when I go to let them in LMAO.
And whats hilarious is Pippi always wants to sit on her but she isnt allowed, but she will try ten times an hour. And Barney will just go and stand right in front of her staring at her LMAO
Dogs often seem to be attracted to the person who likes them least! I have a friend whose mother doesn't like dogs and Banjo just looks totally puzzled that her charm doesn't seem to have any effect on this person and just steps up the effort.
My family all live in Belgium and over there dogs are strictly inside pets. My mother's dog actually isn't allowed outside as much as she would like. "Because her paws will get all muddy" They are also quite horrified at the thought of dogs pooing or even weeing in their garden. That's why they get walked at least twice a day. So different from here!
We had a couple of good friends who visited frequently. The dogs just never took a shine to them, if they stayed here for the night after a few too many drinks the dogs would be on edge all night long.
Now they have moved away we don't see them very often it's amazing the change we have noticed.
A couple of other friends stayed the night a few weeks ago and not a peep out of the dogs, one even managed to push open the spare bedroom door and climbed into bed with them LOL
My dogs are my kids, don't like them don't visit. I don't trust people who don't like dogs.
