Thanks guys! She isn't limping this morning.... But now I have to listen to one of her whining/ hauling concerts as she wants to get out.... But we are back to twice 10 min walks for a few days and we have to work our way back up again.... Poor Ziggy, doesn't understand a thing...
Just tell her ... "Mother knows best Darling"
Time for another update It doesn't look to good ATM. There wasn't really any improvement with Ziggy over the last week. Some days she was limping, some days she wasn't. Yesterday, I had enough and called the specialist who did the surgery and luckily he was able to see us. He was a bit worried as she is limping now with her right leg whereas when we first noticed something is wrong it was her left leg. Also he couldn't locate where she is sore as she responded to the ellbows as well to the shoulder. So he is going to have a look at the x-rays again to make sure they haven't missed anything.... He will give me a call once he has the x-rays because he isn't at work for the next 2 weeks. In the worst case they have to go in again
But he also said that we should treat her like a normal dog in the next 2 weeks. Let her run etc. because maybe she just needs to use it more and get all her muscles used to it again.
She thinks it's great . The limping doesn't bother or stop her at all...
OH is quiet optimistic that in the next 2 weeks she will improve and get better but I am worried... Has anyone got some experience with this? I mean where actually more exercise helped? It does make sense but so far it only made it worse for Ziggy... But we will see what the next days will bring...

Are you going to LM's tomorrow ?? I'd be inclined to "hang in there", but that's me
Of course we see Lyn tomorrow. Ziggy was a changed dog last Sunday after the massage. And of course we will "hang in there" . It is just so frustrating and theoretically she should be able to run again without limping. I am just so worried that she needs surgery again....
How frustrating, Hippo! I would do as the surgeon said and let her run (if she is not in pain) for a while and see if the problem will fix itself.
I had a similar thing with Mimi whereby she was limping after a run and the vet could not see anything wrong. We let it go and after a few months she stopped limping. Whatever it was corrected itself. Good luck Hippo and hope Ziggy gets well soon. xx
Hows Ziggy today? Hope she is feeling better.
Does sound strange what the specialist vet said, but... then again, when I get really sore muscles it always does help to keep moving and stretching them back out...
Hope to hear of an improvement over the next couple of weeks!
I went through 2 surgeries with my previous dog Maxi on torn cruciate ligaments. She took a lot longer to be exercised then what the sureon said. I think that all dogs and cases are different. Some just need a bit more time.
Maxi took a few months.
If she is not in pain, keep exercising her but make sure she's not worse the next day.
Hoping that all your limping problems are over soon,
to you all.
