Well it's nearly been a year since I lost my first boy and the other one couldn't live without his mate so we lost him later last year ... I've got some photos of them, funny buggers they were.
Harley was black and very portly, always a solid boy who had the fastest growing hair, my hubby used to trim him back to the skin about every 4-5 weeks and he was always as warm as a hot water bottle. Most beautiful nature, loud snorts, grunts and snored like a freight train ... after 10 years of very hard work cutting the dew claws that grew like circles, we took the vet's advice and had Harl's dew claws removed. I felt so bad when I picked him up from the surgery, four paws all bandaged up, I felt it must have been like removing someone's thumbs - brought him home and he was straight up to his bowl to see what was to eat. Loved the sun, would sit outside and bask in the sun all the time.
Duke was white, weighed half the weight of Harley and was always anxious, curious, saw all and heard all, he walked around with his nose to the ground finding everyone and everything by scent. We used to reckon that he could hear someone picking their nose two suburbs away and he'd wake us all in the middle of the night with a bark/shriek that used to scare the life out of us. He would give Harley a certain amount of time to get in the bed, ruffle around in the blankets then he'd either hump Harley while his bum was up in the air sorting himself out, or just plonk himself in next to Harley, half hanging over the edge most times, but happy to be close to his mate. When Harley would sit up on the banana bed lounge thing, Duke would be directly under him in the shade, or beside him in the garden, but always in the shade for Duke. Duke would always clean Harley, he'd start at his head and there's a photo of Harley lying there and Duke would preen him.
Hope the photos work
