I was having a lovely walk with my dogs, minding my own business, dogs in lake, im sat on a bench watching sun come up and the dogs playing in the lake, swans/geese/ducks swimming out of their way, neither dog paying any attention to the wildlife, just rumpus play in water and we are all chillin.
Some bloke, circa 70yrs, stomps in front of me, between me and my dogs, and decides its his job to lecture me on dog training, and how many wildlife birds are being killed by my dogs. ????
I explained to the man, i too have seen a lot of dead ducks on the banks of the lake this last month, that i believe its a fox. As there is a lot of fox scat around, i was really being friendly in my tone, and asked him to watch my dogs in the water, and the ducks swimming around them, and how the dogs dont go for the ducks. That they are trained not to. And dont. Even when the ducks make loud noises and move fast, they dont chase them.
For being extra polite, and NOT responding to his rudeness with rudeness i was rewarded with....
"Get your F***ing dogs on a leash, or i will get you"
A threat? of what? i thought, a little fearful, it was only 6ish, im on my own, and dont know for sure if my dogs would protect me?
I called the dogs out of the water, and they came and shook all over us as dogs do. and left.
Why are some people so nasty?
I wish my dogs could be a little more threatening at times!
