My parents have recently adopted a four month old beagle x jack russell pup. I am attempting to convince them to feed a decent quality diet. I know they won't raw feed but I feel they could at least go with a good quality dry food (my dogs have taste of the wild or canidae) and meaty bones etc. They do not believe you should buy dog food that you can't get at the supermarket. Money is no issue for them. Their argument however is that "our dogs have always been fine on chum and pal, they lived for 15 years" and I really don't know how to combat that argument. I've tried to say it will be healthier but the response is "our dogs have always been healthy"! Wondering if anyone has a good line of argument or links to articles etc?
