As I thought it is a case of hindsight is 20/20 as I saw one of the forum members said in a thread. I am just glad Maxi is in our life. I have taken the cautionary measure of getting some pet insurance. I know it was a case of the horse is already bolted with his knees, but I just want to be sure Maxi can get the best care if anything else rears it's ugly head. I have got an optimistic hope this is the worst he will ever suffer in his life time.
I just get a little upset that Maxi's siblings could have been sold on main register, but I bet their new owners are not notified and so the cycle continues
Well on to a happy place, I'm going to have a good search around the forum about lead work and how to go about it. I know it can be done as my daughter has seen a lady whos cavies walk beside her without pulling and asked the lady how she got her cavies to walk next to her. The lady's reply was a lot of hard work. But it gave me hope for future walks. At the moment he just thinks its playtime. Please Tell me it's normal cavie behavior when Maxi refuses to give eye contact when I give him an instruction or he does it in his own good time very slowly LOL - thinking it could be adolescence kicking in?
I will be sure to ask Newsfie about her pups recovery process. Thank you for the heads up. At the moment he is really hating the fact he's on restricted exercise ruling out rough and tumble play with his cat cousin Paitience is need but hard to explain this to an energetic boy who just wants to bounce around the place.
Talking about pics... Where can I find pics of your four beautiful fur kids. I am still working out how the size limits for uploading mine. Today i have worked out how to attach but not the pic uploader, tool. I will get there eventually.
I really appreciate the time you take to reply with helpful words. This might be off track but I thought Id share how my username came about, my boy's registered name is, Maximus Kelinu - he was named after my father as Maxi is the only grandson he will be getting from me. Maxi's name means - The Great Michael. Funny thing was when I told dad I was naming a puppy after him he was stoked but got confused when we shortend his name until I explained the translation to him now he's back to being stoked about his furry namesake. Can not wait till they meet each other for the first time hopefully Xmas time.
Would like to upload a funny vid of maxi playing with himself in the mirror. He still loves seeing himself in the mirror at 10mths. Just got to work out how LOL...
The photo is of Maxi resting contentedly after his op...Vet said stoned was closer to the mark... Oops IPad won't allow me will try to post later when at my computer
