Banjo is pretty well trained by now. I still usually take the treats on our walks, but if I don't, it makes little difference in her responses.
She consistently ignores my daughter though. Which I thought was fair enough as my daughter has not done any training with her and is only a little squirt anyway. She will regularly be calling Banjo's name over and over to get her to come play with her and Banjo happily ignores her.
But yesterday I decided to test how she would go with her on walks. So I handed my daughter the treat bag and the lead and we set off on a local walk with my daughter in control. Including across a couple of off leash areas. As soon as the dog knew my daughter had the treats, she listened to all her commands! Came immediately when called, stayed when told to stay and even listened to her stern "Banjo, off the road!" when she crossed our quiet street without waiting for the cue.
I'm pretty chuffed about that result!
