I mixed up meat for the dog and cat yesterday. Roo mince and liver, heart and beef kidney. I offered the dog a piece of kidney as I was cutting it and she wouldn't eat it. The cat did.
So I added most of the kidney to the cat mix, but put some in the dog mix as I figured she wouldn't be so fussy if it was mixed with other stuff.
Neither of them like their food! The dog will eat it eventually, but clearly isn't thrilled about the smell. The cat just leaves her (though then goes and steals the good bits from the dog's bowl, because she can).
I have given it to the dog before but cooked (mistook it for liver at the supermarket). I suppose I will just avoid it from now on and I might have to throw out what's left - or cook it.
But is there something about kidney that puts animals off?
