Many people fail to realise that the AKNC are not a regulatory authority. They don't have enforcement powers, nor the structure or means to become one even if it was legislated.
I find it a bit rich that someone can criticise breeders for not complying with codes of ethics and admit to non compliance themselves. Straight out hypocritical.
Where are all these show bred dogs that are crippled and maimed and dying from the results of bad breeding every day? I mix it with a whole lot of purebred dogs and see very, very few with obvious health issues. I know there are problems with purebred dogs, but is it this vast epidemic that it's made out to be? The only people that seem to think so are those with little actual involvement. Where is the credibility?
