Hi everyone on DogForum
My names Hayleigh and I'm sharing this account with my partner Luke.
We recently just bought our first pet 3 days ago.
Her names Kelsey and she is a 10 week old Rottweiler x Kelpie. We bought her from our local pet shop just 5 minutes before the store closed. We had a hell of a time racing to the shops just to get her before anyone else thought about it. I had seen her earlier that day and decided she was for us.
We live in Ipswich area though its a strong possibility we will be moving to Perth within the next two/three years.
I've lives with animals since I was a baby. My parents owned a bulldog and labrador when I was just 18 months old. The bulldog always tried to eat my toes (so I've been told) and the golden lab (Edison) always stood defending me.
The earliest dogs I remember being apart of my family were two shitzu x maltese's. We owned them at different times. The first dog named Millie and the second Hannah. I trained and looked after both pups. Eventualy I tought Hannah to walk without a lead. I loved her lots but after miss treatment/playing she learnt to bite so we had to get rid of her. As far as I know she went to a good home to be trained to warn her new family when her companion child stopped breathing in the middle of the night due to some respiratory problems. I miss her alot <3
Luke grew up with a beautiful rottweiler named Kirra until she was put down a few years ago. From what I've been told she had a gorgeous personality. She was excellent with kids and made a good guard dog. She was an indoor/outdoor dog and slepts with all the family members. She loved smooches and cuddles. She was very effectionate. Unfortunatly she grew old and frail. Luke still has photos and she is always dearly missed.
Kelsey is the first dog Luke and I have both paid for essentialy making her our first dog. She playful and fearless. Lukes family ownes a shitzu x maltese named Diesel whos been with them three years. Kelsey loves tormenting him as he is not a very sociable dog. She chews everything atm and we are trying to teach Kelsey her name. She is very placid any other time then when she is running around with Lukes nephews. We hope to breed her with a pure bred rottie when she comes into heat on her first or second time. After her first litter we are going to get her de-sexed.
We are excited about how much joy she is bringing us
We look forward to meeting new members and learning new tips and tricks amoungst the forum.
