There is also the Dogue de Bordeaux, or French Mastiff
This is a photo of my boy who will be 7 this year. He's just under the 60kg mark as I keep him lean.
not too big, great with kids, very loving temperament and dont need a huge amount of exercise, not huge eaters either really. Nowhere near as active and drivey as American Staffordshire Terriers. I dont have that big a drool problem with him at all, try the breeder Bellarouge in NSW. The thing I find is you can't feed them cheap, grain filled food their coats really suffer for it
Just be careful looking at American sites. There is no such thing as a XXL pitbull. Most of those dogs are poorly bred or cross bred as there really is little quality control. Theyre even breeding them now with tiny little dachshund sized legs. The American Pitbull is turning into a cripple, it was never meant to be a freakishly muscled monster with a head the size of a car. You have to remember this is a living creature, not an extension of masculinity ... bigger isnt always better. And I'm not just saying that because I'm a chick LOL
