Hi everyone, I am new here.
A lady from a different website had a staffy, who fell pregnant to a border collie. She gave birth to 8 puppies and all was well.
6 days ago, the mum dog was killed by a snake, so the puppies became orphaned. The lady decided to bottle fed them for a few days along with dry food mixed with water. She then decided to give the puppies to their new owners straight away, which left one puppy.
Feeling terrible that this pup had lost her mum and siblings within a week (if thats the full story) I decided we would take the puppy. We picked her up a lunchtime. We took her straight to the vet clinic at the local rescue, and she has eaten Hills Science Diet mixed with water twice (recommended by the vet) and been flea treated and wormed. She then slept all afternoon, and has had normal poos and wees (a few dead worms in her poos). She hasn't cried, except for when she was eating and then got sidetracked and couldn't find her food again!). So all seems to be ok.
Any advice on dealing with such a young pup? Or should I just keep doing what I am doing? Anything else I can do for her? I have included a photo.
Thanks in advance, going to look through some more posts
