My partner and I have a 13 week old kelpie named Bella. We love her to bits but unfortunately we can no longer keep her because we are renting and our landlords have made it clear that we cannot keep a dog at the property.
We have also found that the time we spend with her just isn't enough to keep her entertained due to her high energy nature, and it is unfair to keep her alone in our small backyard all day while we are at work. There just aren't enough hours in the day for us to give her the exercise and attention that she needs and deserves. We have tried everything that we possibly can, and I have even posted in the Kelpie Forum asking for help, all the advise has been wonderful and Bella has improved so much since then.
We only want what is best for her and if things were different then there is no way that we would be doing this, but as bad as we feel, this is what will be best for her!
She needs someone that has a large backyard/ farm style property, possibly with another dog if there is not someone home for the majority of the day.
As she is only 13 weeks old, only some basic training has been done. She can sit and lay down on command. We have started with the stay command, she hasn't got it perfect yet but she learns very fast.
Bella has had a full vet check and is up to date with her vaccinations, heart worm treatment, flea treatment and worming.
We have a kennel and a bed, plus food, her next worming tablet, and flea treatment, and a number of toys that she loves to go with her to her new home.
We live in Perth's northern suburbs, so if you would like to come and see our gorgeous little girl then please let me know if you are interested.
This is a very regrettable decision, and definitely not an easy one as we love her very much, but it is what will be best for our little Bella.
