I've had my new pup for abour a week now, he's a 9 week old Rhodesian Ridgeback cross named Jonty. He's a lovely little dog but he's very jumpy (I think the dodgy breeder may have something to do with this), but he's slowly coming out of his shell. When i first brought him home he had fleas, worms, and had a nasty scab on his chest, he also hadn't had any of his injections. Since then i've started worming him and treated his fleas, taken him to the vet and had his first vaccination, had him micro chipped, and had his scab checked on (which was fine), so hes on his way
What i'm worried about is he's still looking a bit thin around the lower rib cage/hip area and i'm a little worried because he doesn't really eat a whole lot. i give him a cup of puppy kibble every morning and night and he really doesn't eat much of it, i'm used to labradors so i've never really seen a dog pass on so much food before lol. Should i be worried? or can his lack of appetite be put down to the stresses of a new home/vaccination/worming treatment?
Also i put his new lead on him for the first time tonight and he freaked out, any suggestions for helping him get used to that? Any help and suggestions would be awesome and greatly appreciated.
