There's a ready mix borax and honey that we get at our supermarkets called "ant rid" - I dunno about green ants but it works really well on those little black ants and those even smaller red ants.
If the ants prefer protein - you can mix borax or ant rid with cat food and put it where your pets cannot get it but the ants can - eg under a weighted milk crate. It might also work on european wasps. If they carry it back to the nest - it kills the nest, though you may need to re do a couple of times - as each queen dies - they find/make a new one until they run out of candidates and that can take a few days...
Ants are also deterred somewhat by talcum powder. And ant powder is pretty much the same as flea powder - ie you can sprinkle talc or flea powder as barriers to stop the ants crossing.
And we used to put rid (that purple pack stuff) on each end of the ropes we used for clothes lines and hung between trees when camping up north. Stopped the green ants using our clotheslines as their highways.
