I had a bit of a moment the other day with Banjo when she suddenly started limping when we were crossing a bit of lawn. So I got her to sit and pulled a bindi out of one of her feet.
It just reminded me of my old dog, who didn't like her feet being touched, but would sit down patiently to let me inspect her paws when she had a prickle in her foot. I love that they learn to trust that you will help them in situations like that. Gives me the warm fuzzies.
The last time I helped my old dog like that, she managed to get one of those double acorn caps lodged neatly between the pads of her front foot!
