I took Banjo to the lake today. It is a place she isn't familiar with and the wind through the long grass seemed to spook her out a bit, so she stayed nice and close. She did do the pouncing into the grass a few times, just like my old dog did. Fortunately she did not land on a snake.
I wasn't very happy with her this morning though. I had dropped two bags of compost onto the lawn last night so I could put it onto the veggie patch today. You can guess. I wouldn't have thought it possible, but this morning the bags were gone. All that was left was some compost spread out over the lawn and I eventually found one of the bags with some compost still left in it. They were 25l bags!!! I also left a 5kg bag of blood and bone in the middle of my fairly big, round garden table. How could I have thought that would deter her. At least she only spilled part of the contents of that one over the lawn and the rest is still in the torn bag. I have to give it to her, she is one determined dog.
And the only foster cat we have left now is a bit of Darwinian mistake. Doesn't have a bad bone in her body. I've never seen her use her claws and the dog annoys her all day long.
