My dog Tae is very similar to the dog from 'Marley and me', incredibly naughty but very loving. He's an 11month old bulldog x shihtzu and desexed. He is SLOWLY responding to the training he is receiving which is better then nothing as we've tried many different methods in the past.
Anyway, Tae has this habit of controlling my other dog by her collar, he'll tug on her collar and wont let her go anywhere until he's tired himself out. I've tried distraction methods, I've tried growling and in a deep voice yelling out 'no' but this does not phase him (like most cheeky things he does). What causes me the most concern is I have a new puppy and because she is considerably smaller then Tae, I've watched him swing her around by her collar like he's trying to kill a rat. I've had to remove the collar as I didn't want Tae to injure her. Most times I have to leave my other dogs collar off too as Tae just destroys the collars I've bought previously and I'm sick of having to reorder registration tags for my other dog.
How do I get him to stop this behavior? I would prefer my dogs to keep their collars on as they have their dog tags and registration tags on there, for peace of mind I'd prefer them on in case they ran away and someone finds them and there is a hefty council fine if they run away and are found without their registration tags.
