They are all such lovely stories...
I can not begin to imagine not helping an anmial in need.
One of the saddest rescues for me was a two day old calf at the sale yards. She was terrified and disturbingly weak. The doggers were bidding on her and i saw red! Her umbilical cord was still attached.
I asked my Husband to bid on her. The doggers kept bidding, so i stood on the railings and yelled, 'i dont care how far you have to go honey we are not leaving without this calf'. Not the best thing to do, but i didnt care!
My Husband had to carry her to the car as she was to weak to walk and i nursed her all the way home.
We thought we would loose her. I put a large dog coat on her and sat with her until 2 am the following morning. I was 8 months pregnant at the time.
Well we got through! we named her Olive, she is HUGE now and a big sook! She has a friend Patrick who we rescued from the nackery also at two days old and they live the life of riley together!!
