Well we did our yearly check-up today. Vaccinations and such and a Heart-worm check for Lukey.
Lukeys test was negative, all the dogs had a thoroughly good check-over. We were there for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
The dogs have to be vaccinated, because we are going to have to Kennel them later this year. We did a Heart-worm yearly injection last year, because heart-worm is rampant here. It was going to be $200.00 for Katy and a little less for Lukey and Annabelle each. Tessa about $100.00. I nearly fell of my chair
Anyway the vet was kinda shocked too ..........$300.00 for vaccinations plus $700.00 for Heart-worm.........So we are going the monthly way. he thinks I should have no issue with that. And it is a lot cheaper.
And even though it is still chemicals, I think I am happier with the smaller volumes monthly. The funny thing is you can buy horse-wormers relatively cheap and sheep drenches, which have the same Ivermectin in them. But because it has a dog label it is multiplied by great amounts.
Just my for the day
