Also to clarify, I don't think my dog is a target because she is submissive. She is not timid at all... she's quite confident and will greet other dogs nicely. If they have a dominant posture she will get low, roll over or invite play. Most other dogs seem to love this.
I don't know what it is about her, some people have suggested her colouring (white face) or perhaps that she has what looks like 'nervous energy' - she is always on the go. But she has been attacked from behind a few times now while minding her own business. She didn't have time to submit, the dogs were just on her like that. It is terribly frightening.
My old dog was attacked twice and both times were at or after Dog Obedience.
One Heeler got away from its owner and went straight for Lacey A Heeler also).
Then after training we were leaving and she got attacked from behind.
There was no reason why it just happened.
So I am at a loss to as why she was the targeted one seeing there were many other dogs about at this time.
I dont get too many dogs charging at Nero luckily, maybe size helps??
Pets are forever
At obedience school when he was around the 6 months/ 35kg he used to get a few have a go, nowadays the odd one but none charge.
