Because first and foremost the pup and the potential home it goes to is important.
I KNOW exactly what goes into a litter, so much so that I know that I will never recoup what I have put into my dogs via the sale of a litter.
But pricing does have to be looked at on a breed by breed basis. If price alone could make someone rethink and research a breed before purchasing it's a small win.
I think many dogs are in the situation they are because of poor breed research, purchased on looks alone and the puppy cuteness factor.
i'm not saying charge a bomb but make it enough for people to stop and think, is this really what I want? To me $200 is too little and no different to the over inflated prices that are charged for pet shop puppies placed in the window of large shopping centres sucking in impulse buyers with their cute, get me out of the miserable glass prison look.
