The reason why I don't carry a weapon when I am out walking at night is because I may end up killing an innocent person because I get spooked in my paranoid state. The simple solution is to not walk alone, or to stay at home.
You people living in fear ought to buy a gun, much more reliable and cheaper to maintain. And it only goes off when you pull the trigger, %100 guaranteed
It's great that you have that choice, that freedom.
They choose not to walk alone. They choose to walk with their friend, companion and loyal protector. Exactly what those dogs are supposed to be.
For some people it is not paranoia. It is a legitimate threat to their lives. There is no-one else who can do anything about that threat. The police cannot help with the problem. They cannot stay inside their homes 24/7 and even that isn't safe normally. What do you suggest they do to protect themselves? Remember these threats are around day and night, not just in the dark.
