I have been searching trying to find the ultimate outcome of the court case about Tango the Amm Staf who the GCCC decided was a pitbull. I have the newspaper articles of 7 April 2010. It states the owners were going to still fight although they had both won but really lost. They said Tango was an AmStaff (so not applicable under Gold Coast Council rule to be destroyed) and the court said - "Therefore, as I am satisfied that the applicant has demonstrated that Tango is an AmStaff, it follows that Tango is also an APBT and is thus subject to the restrictions under the local laws referred above."
Does anyone know what happend to poor Tango and her/his family.
As many of you are, I am devastated about potential new Vic laws and can't stop thinking about a lovely dog I met a few weeks ago. A couple went out to Ipswich shortly after the flood after hearing on the radio about lots of abandoned dogs at the pound/shelter. They found a beautiful AmStaff male who is now the light of their lives. Very friendly, totally non-dog aggressive, doesn't need a lead for walks but they put one on anyway, in 6 months he has played with dogs at dog parks and even when challended by a dog will just look away and go back to his owner. He is so much loved. What about him if Qld follows Vic. I would have him in my home at the drop of a hat - personally I am not of fan of these types of breeds but he was just so nice. I know this couple would move to save their dog - but where to???
Sorry for my rant - just random thoughts for the day.
