I am new to the world of forums. I recently joined a health one and I have been loving it. I am having some puppy issues at the moment and I thought why not a dog forum.
We currently have a 14 week old puppy named Ozzy. Ozzy is a pure blue Australian blue cattle dog (registered bitch) x pure kelpie. Naughty Mum visited the kelpie for a late night cuddle and my beautiful boy was the outcome much the disappointment of the dogs owners. Mum is a pet and is not a working dog but Dad is a working dog.
Our last family pet was a pure bread Bullmastiff he tipped the scales at 65kg. He passed away last year and left our family devastated so when we decided it was time for a new addition to the family I wanted something totally different because you could not replace our beloved Tank.
I am aware of the challenges a dog like this requires. (Lots of exercise etc)
but I have always wanted a smart active dog. My parents have a pure bread blonde kelpie and a border collie and I just love their intelligence and loyalty. They however have a property at Goomburra (near Warwick.) I live in suburban Brisbane however because of the hours my husband and I work he is only alone 3hs a day.
Ozzy currently attends puppy preschool and his obedience is fantastic (when you have food in your hand) but we are having a few issues. Ozzy loves to bite and bark for attention. I do think from reading online that he was taken from his Mum a little young. (7wks old.) Can anyone give me some ideas to stop the biting. My daughter is 7 and I don't want to do anything that will create an aggressive dog.
