Last week my dogs had a python it was stuck half way thru the mesh fencing trying to get away from them. I cut around the mesh to release it (then patched the hole). I called WIRES because it had been damaged trying to get thru the fence, they wouldn't come out.
After I cut it out of the fence it only slid halfway thru to the other side of the fence (it was injured and tired) until one of the dogs opened the back door and all of them got out and came straight to where the snake was that was enough to make is slide all the way thru the fence.
If it wasn't vibration or smell what would of made the snake move when the dogs arrived on the scene.
Please understand I'm not doubting you, I do not know anything about snakes and fortunately we have mainly diamond pythons here with the odd RBB. I do as much as I can to keep things clear of debris but we are in very heavy bush here.
