I have just gotten back from the hospital from my 3 yr old son being bitten by a 'friend of a friends' dog.
Both my partner and I were working and asked our friend to watch our son for the day. I got a call around 2 my son had been bitten by a dog. 10 mins later we were in the hospital getting him looked over.
After the docs my son looked like this :
and a closer look at the mark above his eye
I believe the dog has gone 100% thru his lip with a canine. with the marks near the eye, less than a half a centermeter right and I believe my son would be blind. I would like the dog put down as I believe the dog has bitten him twice from the looks of his injuries. I have been told under the eye will scar. He is not stitched to help prevent infection and is on antibiotics twice a day just in case.
Also I do not know what breed the dog is. the dog was not insight when we picked him up so please don't think I am biast in any way towards my choice.
How do I organise it if the dog owners will not agree to the decision privately.
Thankfully my boy is tough and exceptionally brave and sat perfect still while the doc and nurses patched him up
I have had a cry over both my boy and my decision. Opinions and info greatly appreciated
