It was my fault partly. I went for brunch with a friend and we had to wait outside for a table. There was a very strange looking dog there, I have never seen ANYTHING like it. She was big, maybe 20kg, and this stunning grey suede colour. She felt like coral fleece. Her face was a tad rolley, but she had tiny ears (they had possibly been cut) that hung forward and never sat up and a really short tail.
I let her sniff my hand etc and gave her a little pat, she was fine. While I was sitting with my friend (next to the dog on a bench, the dog was tied to a bike rack on the footpath) she became tangled in her lead. My friend and I both got up at the same time and I said 'I'll go' and went over. Dog was fine, wagging her tail.
I approached slowly and went to unwrap her leg, she was wagging her tail, then she just snapped and started biting me. I jumped back, arms up and was saying 'it's ok'. Her owner came out then and apologized, saying she can be human aggressive. I didn't tell him she bit me, she didn't draw blood or anything, I sort of scraped my arm on her top jaw really. I've had worse playing with Jackson!
Two small dogs came walking down the footpath and I thought here we go, because this dogs lead was long enough that she could block the path. She greeted them tail going crazy and the owners stopped and let her play with them! I was like :O
Lesson learnt though, I won't be doing that again. Next time I'll go find the owner and make them untangle or assist their dog. It sort of irked me though, I don't really think it was appropriate to leave the dog tied up outside, alone, in a position where it could get at anyone walking past, especially if it's aggressive!!!!
