There is a show out called 'Wilfred', about a guy who sees his girlfriends dog as a bong smoking, beer drinking, cigarette huffing guy in a suit. There are two versions, the original Australian one that was first aired on SBS in 2007, and the US version, which has only just been released and will be playing on Channel 11, I think Tuesday nights at 9.30.
Both shows have Aussie actor Jason Gaan (used to play the cricketer in one of those skit shows that were around a few years ago) as Wilfred, the psychotic dog.
Whoever made this show clearly understands dogs, it's quite hilarious to have an explanation of why they do things they do.
The two versions are different from each other in storyline, and different in general. I found the US version funnier, it's a lot lighter and more a sit-com style. They successfully transferred it over though, it's not another Kath and Kim disaster.
Wilfred's reasoning and actions are great to watch, if you have some spare time you should check it out
