All sizes of poodle feature quite prominently in obedience and agility trials around where I live. There are also a lot of labs in obedience. All the ones I see are show line.
I instruct a beginner's class at our dog club and once the labs learn to calm down in the presence of other dogs and people, they tend to be star pupils! We also have a GR x lab in our class who is quite smart.
My house is always full of fur tumbleweeds which is annoying, but I'd prefer that than having to get my dogs groomed every 6-8 weeks so I put up with it
We have had our female Groodle for 3 years, and went for the mix after loosing our beautiful Golden Retriever to old age. While we loved the nature and temperament of our Retriever we hated her continual hair loss, and 16 years prior to selecting her there was no such thing as a Groodle. We couldn't be happier with our choice of 2nd generation groodle and nothing but a wonderful addition to our family of 3 human boys which are probably the greatest test to a dogs nature. Let me know if your interested as she is due for a litter very shortly.
Oh, this might get interesting!
