hey there !!!
thought i would drop by and say hello !! so .. hello !!
i'm only new as i was browsing the net finding info on puppies and the like when i thought the best way to ask anything and meet new people and dogs would be on a forum !!! so i thought i would join.
i'm in the process of a new addition to the faimly coming along in 3 weeks time. by then, he will be an 8 week old little goldie puppy called Yogi !!! i'm so excited and can't wait for the little fluff ball to come and occupy my life !!!
i've always been around dogs since i was old enough to leave the hospital. we had Penny, who was my brothers dog (whippet/lab/kelpie/we really didn't know) from the pound and she was a lovely dog who looked after me through my young years and lived till 16 !
then bonnie came along while Penny was still around. She was my first golden retriever who was a beautiful girl but had the personality of more of a cat. she fetched the ball when it suited HER etc.
when Penny left us for doggie heavan, Bonnie was so upset so we got her another little goldie called Clyde. Clydie was my bestest mate and is still the superstar dog in my eyes !!! he couldn't do enough to help you and loved loved LOVED to please you. he did extreamly well in obedience, loved to fetch the newspaper everyday, would carry his own lead and knew how to loop it so it wouldn't drag, help carry in the shopping and would always be there for you smiling !!!
he lived a grand life till he passed away at 14 years of age in April last year. i still think about him and i know he will always be with me walking by my side.
before Clydie passed on he was a fantastic step father to another goldie, Jack. Jack was like a flea/squirrel/ticking time bomb w/ an attention span that lasted 5 seconds. but he had sooooooooooo much love to give you w/ endless amounts of energy !! after Clydie left he did slightly mature and we did grow and we bonded to be very close. he was my bestest little running buddy and could spend all day swimming and running at the beach if he could. sadly he was taken by cancer earlier this month at only 6 years of age. i was heart broken w/out my little guy in my life ... he lived a huge energy filled 6 years though and lived like a puppy right up until he got sick.
so i'm ready to take on another litter terror and hope to get back into obedience again and meet new friends who love their doggies too !!
and my partner has Moto (bullmastiff/ridgeback) who is a loving and kind gentle giant. i think he is looking forward to being step daddy to the little pup !! it will wake him up anyway as he's preferred routine is to sleep alllllllll day !!
other than dogs, i love horses, surfing, beaching, traveling and making the most of everything !!!! should probably put procrastinating on the list too seeing i can easily spend lots of time on here now !!!!
lovely to join the forum !!!
Alyssa ... Moto and soon to join, Yogi
