Tomorrow and advert will appear in the local paper for our two girls, Xena (4) and Nala (3). Gold German Shepherds. Our beautiful, wonderful babies have to be found a new home.
18 months ago we moved to a 3 acres house block to give the girls, and ourselves, some more room. They have had the run of 1.5 acres when we are out and 3 acres when we are in.
On Tuesday they decided the sheep on the other side of the fence (which have been there for the whole 18months) were too interesting. They went through the electric hot wire, through the chicken mesh rural fence and in with the sheep. Resulting in one dead ram and one other injured. The Rural Crimes Squad and the Dog Squad were called (we were at work) and now we either re-home or they are classified Dangerous Dogs.
They have NEVER done anything like this before, they have NEVER even gone into that paddock before. We have no idea what brought it on but as the humans, I feel it must be our fault. They are afterall, only dogs.
I am over people's comments like, oh it could be a child next (????) and 'they were never right for this neighbourhood' (owner of dead ram) etc etc.
We are as heartbroken and devestated as if the police had brought one our human children home. it sux big time!
Thanks for listening.
