Dakota is 16 weeks-three meals per day. She has been on Royal Canin german shepherd 30 junior. She has this twice per day and since she came to us.
Her other meal is made up of alternatives from rice or rice pasta (fillers only-& texture) cooked with a good supply of pumpkin (for it's wonderful effect on the sensitive digestion of the GSD) and other seasonal vegetables such as carrot, beans, yams or kumara.
During the week, she also recieves 1 egg and a large tin of tuna in brine. The cooked meals are accompanied with around 400gms of raw minced beef or stewing steak. She cannot tolerate chicken, fresh or cooked-otherwise that would be added to her diet. We have just started giving her bones: Marrow less frequently, brisket moreso. before that she had the regular puppy twists.
Her coat is extremely glossy now as she is blowing her puppy coat and the royal canin is what I believe has made the difference. Expensive, yet deals with the sensitivities of the digestive tract that GSD's are vulnerable to.
I also experiment around with some of the suggestions in this link-http://www.petpathics.com/Dogs-Natural-Rawfood%20-Diet.html
