This is more a Vent than anything
This morning 2 gorgeous dogs appearred on my door step a cute Whippet mix pup (about 6 months old I think) and a Golden Retriever.
The pup was coverred in ticks, I am STILL picking them off myself.
The goldy was covered in fresh black river Mud and algeam so i gave it a quick wash dry and groom so I could check for any serious injuries. There was nothing immediate but she was really in pain in her hips and after her wash I found a greying muzzle. This lady was clearly an oldy.
my OH and I loaded both into the car at 9am straight to the vet to check for microchip and a quick suggestion on her hips.
No microchip for either dogs and the vet nurse agreed straight away that the dog was in pain and needed a number of shots to help relieve her pain, but they couldn't do it for us as they needed owner permission or we had to pay.
Unfortunately we are really tight this week and the Vet wasn't willing to do an account for us. So we rang the ranger to take them to give the Goldy the medical attention she needed.
Now all this I have no problems with I did the best I could but...
While waiting for the Ranger the dogs' owner turned up. He took the dogs, made the old dog jump up into his 4 wheel drive and informed me that she had been having clear problems with her back end for quite a while.
I told him the vet had recommended medical attetion and he seemed to shrug it off.
Legally I have to give his dogs back and give him the chance to get the dog to the vet but I don't believe he will take her to the vet. Should I have held onto the dog till the ranger? If i see the goldy again still in pain I WILL be reporting him.
Is it wrong I feel so bad for finding a Lost dog's real home?
