just realised I haven't posted much about her for a while..
She met my bfs dog Roxy. I was really pleased at how well they got along considering the fact Roxy hates other dogs. We stayed for 4 nights.
We met my bf and Roxy at a park and they were really good. Roxy only tried to get aggressive when she could hide under Bens legs.
They were good together at Bens house. Kimba had a go at Roxy a few times but only because Roxy wouldn't leave her alone..lol I think with more time and when Roxy isn't really excitable they will get along great. The only problem I have is that there isnt a suitable place to keep them separate when we are out so they haven't been together since.
Kimba went to the Vets and had Bladder Stones removed. The vet was shocked when they found them as she showed NO sign that she was in the slightest bit of discomfort.
before and after pics..
She is now on a "special" (I think that is the Vets word for expensive) diet. Until I get the test results back.
The only food she can eat is Royal Canin Biscuits that are $35 for 2kg and
the canned version to give her some variation.
She HATES it. She gets fed at 5-6pm and she won't eat it until 9 or 10pm when every other option for food is exhausted.. The first 2 days I had to hand feed her.
She has such an attitude too, I took this photo after offering her dinner the other night. You can tell she wasn't inpressed
Last week one of our neighbours cleared their bush block of land and our neighbours from behind came over to tell up they saw a Red Belly Black Snake slither into our yard.. Dad searched for it but saw nothing.
Hours later Kimba was barking. She is the type of dog that when she barks you go see what it is, Unlike Buddy who barks at absolutely anything...
We went out to her and she was attacking Buddy (they are best mates) we grabbed him and she growled at the side gate.
I know my dog and that something had upset her. Dad and Ben went and searched on the other side. The moved old concrete pipes and saw nothing. A big frog jumped out but she wasn't phased by it.
They started putting the pipes back and the head of the snake came out.
Some might not agree with what Ben and dad did but with so many young children and animals around with no one willing to relocate it they had no other choice. (we called our local wires about a different snake and they told us the closest person was 1.5 hours away and pretty much said they wouldn't come out. Even when there was a snake at the daycare my mum works at they got the same response and we have all complained about it)
When Kimba saw it the barking and growling came back. It was only cms away from her the whole time just the fence was blocking her from it.
Dad said the snake was nearly 5ft long. Its isnt the first one she has found and I lknow it wont be the last but I am so proud of her protecting my family from it and even attacking Buddy to keep him back (she didnt hurt him but she definately wasn't playing)
