I'll just bet I'm overreacting, but...
Background first: Villain is 31 months (so just over 2 1/2). I alsways thought he was a bit ADHD, but, since getting Flirtt my eyes have opened (lol) and I've realised he is actually quite a lazy sod... he has energy and we do lots and lots and lots of exercise, but potentially left to his own devices he would be a bit more of a couch potato. Flirtt on the other hand flicks the "on" switch in the morning, goes all day, then flicks the "off" switch at night. The difference between show and working lines, I guess.
Anyhoo, last night he gave me the scare of my life; I went to let him out for "last wees" and he failed to budge. One eye was open and fixed, and he was warm and breathing, but not moving. I checked his tum (thinking bloat) and up went the leg... tum fine... then back down it went when my hand went away. No other movement, not even a blink. So I grabbed his lead and lifted his head to slip it over his neck. STILL no movement, no eye movement and he was stiff as a board. I freaked on the inside and stepped back when he bounced up, went out, peed, wandered about then took himself back to bed. Bloody sod!
So to today; we've been out and about all day, swimming, walking, visiting friends and we've come home and instead of hanging out on the deck as usual, he's gone off to his houndhouse at the bottom of the yard and snuggled in for a nap...
Now, it's been warm here (warmer than a Gippsland Winter!) but not stinking hot- mid to high 20's. I will say the wether has been ultra random- hot cold, warm, cold, warm, stinking hot, cold, warm... He could be acclimatising. He could just also be growing up. He might even be contented enough to not need to be hanging at the back door and happy to go find his spot and crash out.... I just dont know.
I'm super happy to take him to the vet, but my vet (a good man) is likely to ask me what I want to test for.... and I have no idea! His poo is healthy and consistent, his urine looks good, he does not seem to be sore anywhere, no lumps, bumps or other strange things. He is eating and drinking normally, no diet changes and no changes in weight since last weigh in a fortnight ago.
Any thoughts? Maybe my money would be better spent on a psychiatrist for me?
