So I am going on a holiday to NZ in two weeks, for two weeks, and we have a friend house sitting while we are away. She has her own dog and horses, so looking after the animals aren't a problem. But the thing is, Lacey is like a sponge and I don't want her to learn any bad habits while I am away. Jenny's (the house sitter) own Lab is badly overweight, like I wouldn't be surprised if she had a heart attack right now. I have never seen a dog with double chins before.
So what should I do to make sure Jenny does things right? Looking after Lacey is a full time job for me - there are lots of things to keep in mind. I'm going to miss my baby so much! I wouldn't go on holiday, but tickets are already paid for. So what are your suggestions? We are moving house on the eleventh so I'm not exactly sure how everything is going to work, i.e whee Lacey will sleep, where she will be fed and where her pen will go etc. I was thinking about maybe writing some instructions? Like what to do if she shows bad manners, house rules and feeding times etc. I guess we will buy all her food and bones and stuff before we go and we will freeze the bones.
I'm so worried! She won't be in her socialisation period anymore, she will be in her fear period so I have to make sure that she doesn't have any bad experiences. Jenny doesn't have any young kids, only an 18 yo daughter.
