Its still lazy... I would rather walk my dogs for an hour then put them on a treasmil for an hour.. And I have a hypo kelpie..
Im sorry I just find it really lazy
To me this statement of yours shows how little exsperaince you must have with different breeds & temperaments not to mention rehabbing dogs.
Think before you type as you can not possibly think your comment is true to all situations.
Oh & not everyone is fit enough to run beside their dogs & a walk really is not enough for alot of dogs.
I did start this thread to hear opinions!!
I guess your right about wanting opinions but gee I just can not see how anything anyone has said could be taken as being lazy.
Im sorry if I have upset anyone.. But it does come across lazy..
I have a dog that doesn't get on with another dogs. So how would he learn to get on with another dogs with I walked him on a treadmil?
Yes I can see it has a training aid but not for me cos I find it lazy.
I own working dog breeds: ACD and a kelpie. I'm lucky that the kelpie goes to work with OH and come home semi tired.. But she would run 24hours if she could.
No upset just don't see myself as lazy. A dog that dosn't like other dogs & 50kg plus of insane rage towards other dogs is different. I too would just walk an energic kelpie who wasn't keen on dogs but the above is just too dangerous but I use treedmill & my own pack as training tools untill dog is safe to be part of surburba or I decide I can not help the dog.
What I am trying to say is it's a bit much to call all poeple who use treadmills as lazy as every situation is different.
Crazy, no offense implied, we are in absolute agreeance, I just dont want anyone to hesitate to give their opinion... that's why we are here, no?
I, myself, was surprised at how many others utilize tready's, I once thought they were only the domain of greyhound trainers and rehab centers.
