Now I am older I don't engage in rough house behaviour with these three (all are under 2 years of age) I love having the 3 as they engage in this between themselves. I love watching them in the pen in the mornings going nuts with their racing zoomies. One may cheat and cut off a corner then roughousing hell breaks loose. They love it. They line up again and off they go.
Hubby and kids used to now and then rough house play with our now deceased blue heeler ( RIP2007) and the BCx (RIP 2002.) This was only done outside and was stopped if over excitement happened.
It was stopped if hard mouthing or general over the top behaviour happened with either human or animal. The dogs or kids ( late teenagers then) or hubby were told to SETTLE then after that occurred they came inside to gentler times and the BCx who preferred to be outside had some peace too.
