I believe *headdesk* is in order!
I wish for the love of god that we could stay on topic, however since she has me on ignore it means we can! Bet she doesn't keep me there. Can't resist my juicy goodness.
YES ! Here we go again.......Occy !
HOW is this my fault Magdalena. I was having a perfectly civil conversation with Steve when someone decided to use what I had said to have ANOTHER go at me and it is MY fault? Explain how that works. Happy to apologise for inciting violence, if you can point out where I made my mistakes
K9: Yep I began putting together my own training program just a bit before then, you will remember me defending them probably ten years ago on Ozdog rescue & DOL.O: Steve - I think the USE of e collars as changed and it is a matter of changing the perception. The perception I rightly had in the beginning (um 8-9 years ago?) was of a pain causing the device because that is how the literature worked and how the people around me worked.
K9: well m preferred method of training is training in prey drive, but when a dog has previously learned steps in achieving prey drive success we sometimes need more than a toy (prey item) to get them into the program.I do not necessarily advocate their use - I would prefer other avenues first. In fact I would rather train purely with motivation coming from me (no matter where you are you can always make something into a toy lol).
You will also recall me bringing training in drive into the light in Australia many years ago too.
K9: Well we dont start all dogs on NILIF these days, rather drive development.I wish people would start training from day 1. Get NILIF in there from the word go, go to training, deal with the probs as they emerge, not when they are established. But I guess wherever there are new owners there will be the same old problems
I have about 3 - 5 people a month coming to me now BEFORE they get the dog, & twice that many doing my Raising a Pup the right way which starts before they get the dog too ideally. People are coming around.
I can't remember what happened yesterday let alone 10 years ago lol. Fair enough. People have their difference and grow and learn. No hard feelings? I'm pretty ready to move on. Was actually thinking about something in that period of my life that has only occured to me now. I might share with you one day lol
K9: Thanks Nic, I would just like to say that at many times I have come under criticism from many because I will stop at nothing to get results, use any tool or method (within reason) to make it all work.B: Steve and k9force are nothing short of inspirational for so many dog owners facing challenging/distressing times.
Severe problems with dogs can be difficult to solve, lets face it many trainers just give up in the face of most of the dogs I get to work with. That isn't because they are incompetent or even close, it is probably because I just will not give up.
I am being flown all over the country regularly & people are travelling to see me for this very reason.
But the one thing that my clients all leave with is what I feel is the first necessary ingredient in the recipe that needs to be added, without this ingredient I have never achieved success even in the most simple of problems.
That ingredient is that each & every client must leave my facility with HOPE.
I have honed my people & dog skills to show results with every dog in every consult, each person leaves with a healthy does of hope.
All i can offer is an apology due to the ridiculous antics and dynamics recently experienced on this forum...I am very embarressed to say the least. I am embarresed at this point to be associated!
I hold your training methods in the highest regard, along with so many others. I know how hard you work for dogs and their owners in supporting a positive and healthy relationship and you are spot on in training techniques.
Training is a crucial part of responsible dog ownership and responsible dog ownership is fundamental to happy, healthy well adjusted dogs.
Yes! Hope and support is amazing
Thank you for taking the time to assist and greatly educate!
