Yes I am a registered breeder.
Do I believe that only reputable registered breeders should breed dogs? Big FAT yes.
In a nutshell if an unwanted mating occurred between two of my dogs I would terminate that pregnancy, regardless of the fact that I could easily fulfill the need to find homes, or the fact that they would be cared for, raised with experience and knowledge, purebred, registered, vet checked, microchipped vaccinated and come with a puppy package and lifetime support and return.
The fact remains that it was unplanned and there are methods to terminate.
So the choice to continue or abort is a decision I can make.
If anyone would like to know how to tell if a bitch is in season feel free to visit my home now, if you would like to know how a male acts around a bitch in season feel free to visit now.
I give you 5 minutes and you will be begging to leave, last week when both girls were right in season I'd give you one minute and you wouldn't have been able to get out of the house fast enough.
I have offered my support in the past to people with bitches in whelp and I will do so now and will do so in the future, but I will always tell them of the options open to them first. Do I believe they are being irresponsible not to take up that option - yes. But I still offer them support.
This is a purebred and crossbred forum, but it doesn't mean we just breed either willy nilly.
