My friend with the chocolate lab has asked me to look after Stellar when they go on holidays in September. I have agreed and this is my dilemma:
I can either stay at her house or have Stellar at mine. I would prefer to have Stellar here because my friend's house is a long drive to uni & home, and of course I would miss Taya
The only thing is now I have to make up my mind (i was going to try having Stellar here and just move into my friend's place if that didn't work). Relatives (?) of her boyfriend are coming to Perth for a while to see if they want to live here and they were going to stay at their house while they are away. She said I have first choice & i can stay in their house if I want to.
My only concern having Stellar here is that the dogs may not get on. Stellar doesn't see many other dogs so when she does she is just a tad hyper. Tay has met her a few times and is very tolerant and takes ages before she snaps at her. The thing is, having Stellar at 'Taya's' house may be a different story. Tay is fine if other dogs aren't in her face/space; she will grudgingly share her home.
My friend and I are thinking of putting the two dogs together for a day in the hope that Stellar will calm down after a while....see how they go. Though It would probably be best if we put them together a few times. Will this work do you think??
Anyway sorry for the essay - just after your thoughts on this.
*I will try my best to have Stellar meet my friends dogs when I'm looking after her!*
